Reiki is a powerful Japanese practice that incorporates energy, intention, and the recipient's own healing abilities to bring balance and harmony to the body and mind.
When we feel unbalanced mentally, physically, emotionally, or spiritually, it can be said that our energy is stuck. Reiki encourages the energy to move, bringing healing to all affected systems.
There are no special materials needed, and Reiki is safe for all ages, at all phases of life, and for all medical conditions (mental and physical). I work with women and men of all ages and orientations, including anyone from the LGBTQ community.
The word Reiki is a combination of two Japanese words: Rei meaning Higher Power, and Ki meaning Universal Life Force (you may have read it as Chi or Qi). Reiki can be loosely translated as Guided Healing, with the Guide as the universal energy of creative energy that directs the healing of the recipient in all aspects.
Healing is given to a client who is fully clothed, laying on a comfortable surface. Depending on the comfort of the recipient, Reiki can be fully hands-off or respectfully hands-on. Reiki is highly effective and completely non-invasive. Usually people feel deeply relaxed during and after a session, and this relaxed state indicates that healing is occurring at a very deep level. The healing continues long after the session is complete.
Reiki is completely non-denominational, and is inclusive of all spiritual practices or no spiritual practice. It is completely compatible with all religions and faiths and is inclusive of all beliefs. There is no need to believe in Reiki for it to work.
And you are awesome at what you do!
A Reiki session takes place in your home or my place (either in my home or in my office), in a comfortable, quiet place where you won't be disturbed. We will discuss any issues that you would like to work on or address, then set an intention for the session. Reiki can be worked either hands-on, or slightly above your body and completely hands-off. You may talk or stay quiet as you like.
You may feel warmth, a slight buzzing feeling, sleepy, energized, "floating", "grounded", tingling, or simply relaxed. You may also feel nothing. The Reiki will be working whether you "feel" it or not. If you feel uncomfortable at any time, just speak up and we will work to make you as comfortable as possible.
After the session, you may or may not wish to talk about your experience. There are no rules to Reiki and no way to "do it wrong".
I chose Quinn because her personality suited me well - gentle and open.
Also because she is confident and knowledgeable.
Long Distance Reiki
A long distance session has many of the same attributes as an in-person session. We will connect by phone before the session to discuss any issues you would like to address, then I will have you lay down comfortably for the session. We will then talk by phone after the session to discuss your experience and complete your session.
But I'm a Christian or a Catholic -
Is Reiki against Scripture?
Even though Reiki is non-denominational and a faith-inclusive practice, many people of faith have questions about whether or not it is in keeping with their religious practice. Please click on the following website banner to learn more about what Scripture says about healing and how it can be applied to Reiki.
